On Sunday's river boat pageant - part of HRH The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations - Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wore red Alexander McQueen. Last night, as the celebrations continued with a concert at Buckingham Palace, she wore blue. With a hint of Alexander McQueen. Still having a whale of a time with her in-laws.
Sadly we have almost no images of her outfit. But thanks to Grazia, we do have this grainy image of the dress. Which is from superior high street retailer Whistles. I love Whistles. And the dress was available on ASOS for £150. But it is sold out now. Which makes me think... do you think that Kate gets some of her stuff online and delivered to the Palace? Makes total sense! She is also wearing a black boucle jacket by McQueen. A perfect mix of high street and designer for a concert event.
The Queen herself looked amazing. Almost certainly in Angela Kelly. I love that cape with the gold brocade neck detailing - if it is good enough for Diane Kruger, it is good enough for HRH. Amazingly on trend and beautiful. Later she removed the cape to reveal a more traditional beaded gown - in GOLD!
Having spent half of my adult life living in England, I have been lucky enough to have attended my fair share of outdoor concerts and events. Really, there are few that can rival the spectacle of what the Brits can do when they set about it. What an amazing affair. And imagine what the Olympics will be like! Let's just hope that whatever K-Middy wears to today's shenanigans, we can actually see. Will it be white??
